Tagua Piano Necklace
Reminiscent of colorful piano keys, this eye-catching necklace offers a modern shape and design through softly colored tagua nut beads and a silvertone chain.
Handcrafted in Ecuador through a fair trade company, artisans use tagua nuts to make the beads by carving and dyeing pieces of these incredibly strong and durable nuts. Tagua nuts, also called 'vegetable ivory', grow on palm trees in the rain forests of Ecuador. They are an eco- and animal-friendly alternative to ivory, and an increasingly important resource for Ecuadorian craftspeople.
